MEET OUR TEAM
LCDR W. L. Crouch Division

Dedication and Service

Our Navy Sea Cadet Division at Ellington Field was established in August of 2025 and it has officially been named after LCDR W. L. Crouch (WWII veteran and life long supporter of USNSCC). This is a huge honor for us to carry on his legacy with the naming of our unit.

Lieutenant Commander W. L. “Babe” Crouch (1925–2016) dedicated over 70 years to naval service and youth leadership. Enlisting in 1943, he served 30 years in the U.S. Navy, taking part in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Azores, and Cuba. His distinguished career included work on the Apollo Lunar Excursion Module, Polaris missile research, and service aboard the USS Yorktown.  From 1973 to 2016, LCDR Crouch served in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, mentoring thousands of young cadets as National Vice President, Southwest Regional Director, and Commanding Officer of the Alamo Division. His many honors include the Secretary of the Navy Superior Public Service Award and appointment as an Admiral in the Texas Navy.  The LCDR W. L. “Babe” Crouch Division in Houston, Texas, proudly bears his name.

Our Crouch Division Staff works hard to keep Sea Cadets on course by providing safe and rewarding opportunities for our young men and women.
